COLOUR RENDERING
Micomlan states CRI 95, and Rosenberry Rooms rates this family at CRI >90 — a bar that cost $250 two years ago.
SHADOW-FREE LIGHT
Two separate light bars on a 7-joint arm wash a whole desktop instead of throwing one hot spot — the practical difference between a task lamp and a drafting lamp.
FITS YOUR DESK EDGE
The ultra-wide metal clamp with a silicone pad takes edges up to 2.5 inches; above that, or on glass, you need a weighted base instead.
TUNABLE LIGHT
4 colour temperatures × 5 brightness levels, plus power-off memory and a 30-minute sleep timer.
BUILD
An all-aluminium body that doubles as the LED heatsink — the reason it tolerates being left on all day.
ACTUALLY BUYABLE
Four lamps this card recommended in 2026 — PHIVE CL-2, PHIVE HT-2, AmazLit 15W and Amico 11W — have read "Currently unavailable" for over two months; the Micomlan was live at $44.64 on 2026-08-08.

The catch — co-equal billing, always

The CRI 95 is a claim, not a measurement. No independent lab has published a figure for this SKU, and Micomlan states no lumen number at all. Only Dyson and BenQ publish a full optical sheet with R9 and flicker alongside CRI — buy this for casual colour work, never for billable colour grading.

Dealbreaker? Runner-up №3 publishes measured CRI 90 min — at $650 ↓

Every product has a catch. Verdicts that hide it are how bad buys happen.

Don't buy this if…

  • you need a light bar that clips onto the top bezel of a monitor to kill screen glare, rather than a desk-mounted task lampmonitor light bars dossier →
  • you want a general LED desk lamp without swing arm / architect styleLED desk lamp verdict →
  • you need floor-standing task lighting for a studio or easel
  • you need a ring light for video calls or content creation

Wrong product for you is still a bad buy. These are the cases where we'd send you somewhere else.

Traps — this verdict avoids

Why the Micomlan Dual-Light is right for you

It avoids every trap below — and for just my desk, under $80, it is the pick because it delivers:

Trap 01

Watts are not lumens

Wattage tells you nothing about brightness on an LED. The 25W Dyson emits 850 lm; the 30W Neatfi XL emits 2,500 lm. Optical design sets usable task light, so aim for roughly 500 lumens for general desk work and 800+ for drafting or detail work.

Trap 02

Measure the desk edge first

Every clamp here has a hard thickness limit — Micomlan 2.5 in, ONEMIX 2.75 in, Neatfi clamps about 2.4 in. A thicker edge or a glass top means a weighted base instead, and thin laminate needs the silicone pad fitted or the clamp will dent it. Check arm reach too: a 414 mm arm does not cross a 30-inch-deep desk.

Trap 03

An integrated LED is a disposable lamp

Only the Globe Electric takes a replaceable E26 bulb. Every other lamp here is an integrated LED — when the panel or driver dies the whole lamp is scrap, which is a material risk at $649.99 for the Dyson and $135.95 for the Neatfi XL.
