Sony's XM4, XM5 and XM6, Bose's QuietComfort Ultra 1st and 2nd Gen, the AirPods Max 2 and the 2024 USB-C AirPods Max, and Sennheiser's Momentum 4 and Momentum 5 are all listed at the same time at overlapping prices. The Bose 1st Gen is $344.99 while the 2nd Gen is $369.99 — read the generation on the listing, not the family name.
ANC does not remove voices
Attenuation is strongest below roughly 500 Hz — bus and aircraft engines, HVAC rumble — and weak across the voice band. SoundGuys' best figures of 2026 (89.4% for the AirPods Max 2, 87% for the Bose QC Ultra 2nd Gen) are perceived-loudness averages, not silence. No headphone here removes a nearby conversation, and the seal depends on ear-pad fit, head shape and glasses.

LDAC needs Android; aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless need Android with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset; every iPhone and iPad is limited to SBC and AAC regardless of what the headphone supports. Paying a premium for aptX Lossless on an iPhone buys you nothing at all.
