When the cell fades in three or four years the headphone is finished — Sennheiser's Momentum 5 is $2 more with a user-replaceable battery, which is the difference between a five-year headphone and a three-year one. Sony also skips aptX Lossless entirely. The ear pads at least detach and are user-replaceable, so budget a set every year or two of heavy use.
