The weight window
Every arm has a minimum as well as a maximum. An arm rated 4.4-19.8 lbs will sag under a 25 lb panel and float a 3 lb one upward — no tension setting fixes an out-of-range monitor. Weigh yours before you buy.
VESA that isn't there
Most arms cover only 75x75mm and 100x100mm. Monitors over 32 inches often use 200x100mm or 200x200mm, and of the 13 arms compared here only the Ergotron HX supports those natively. Check your monitor's hole spacing first.
The desk decides
C-clamps fit desks 0.4-3.5 inches thick. Thin particle board needs a reinforcement plate or grommet mounting, and glass desks require grommet mounting outright — a clamp cannot safely grip them.
