The XLR mic is half the bill
An XLR mic needs an interface, and that is the real price. The Shure SM7dB is ~$549 for the mic and ~$690-$800 all-in once a $140-$250 Focusrite Scarlett-class interface is added. Its built-in preamp does at least remove the $100-$200 Cloudlifter the old SM7B needed.
A condenser in an untreated room
Condensers (QuadCast 2 S, Blue Yeti, NT-USB+, Wave:3, Capsule Elite, SoloCast 2) broadcast keyboard clatter, fans and housemates far more than dynamics do. A dynamic capsule is the fix, and the cheapest one on this card is the Maono PD200W at ~$90.
Nothing comes with an arm
Only the Sennheiser Profile Streaming Set (~$198) includes a boom arm. The MV7i (~$389) and SM7dB (~$549) include no stand at all, and every other pick here is desk-stand only — budget $30-$130 for an arm on top of the mic.
