Some listings still quote pre-standard in-house numbers. The Klymit Insulated Static V advertises R 4.4, but its ASTM F3340 value is 1.9 — a summer pad, not a three-season one. If a listing doesn't say ASTM, treat the number as unverified.
Size is the SKU
Regular, Regular Wide, Long and Long Wide are different products at different prices. Long and Wide variants typically add 20-40% weight and $30-60 — the review quoting a lighter number is usually testing a smaller pad than the one you're about to buy.
Half the warmth system
