It also sells only as single units, so a genuine two-node mesh is ~$498, and Amazon stock at $249 has been thin.

Pack count is the product
A 1-pack, 2-pack and 3-pack of the same system are different SKUs hundreds of dollars apart, and every "covers N sq ft" claim scales with them. The eero Pro 7 at ~$300 is one node covering 2,000 sq ft; the Deco BE23 3-pack is $153 for three. A mesh price quoted without the pack count is meaningless.
Backhaul beats the spec sheet
Whether you can run Ethernet between node locations matters more than any speed class: each wireless hop costs roughly half the available throughput. A wired $153 Deco BE23 3-pack can beat a wirelessly-backhauled flagship, and coverage figures assume wireless backhaul and ideal placement — concrete and metal framing cut them 30-50%.
The router "ban" is not a ban
On 2026-03-23 the FCC added every foreign-produced consumer router to its Covered List, blocking new equipment authorizations without a DoW/DHS Conditional Approval. Models already authorized stay legal to buy and use, and an FCC waiver keeps firmware flowing until at least 2027-03-01. Netgear and Amazon eero hold approvals into late 2027; TP-Link, ASUS, MSI and Acer hold none.
