Latency is the chain, not the CPU
Latency comes from laptop plus interface plus driver plus buffer: a $1,260 MacBook Air with a quality Thunderbolt interface out-performs a $3,000 Windows laptop on a budget USB one. Arm/Snapdragon Windows laptops are excluded here outright — many VST3/AAX plugins and audio-interface drivers are still x64-only.
Same model name, different machine
The ProArt P16's $1,899 RTX 4060 / 32GB config is discontinued; ASUS's own store now starts at $3,999 and Amazon lists only reseller-modified builds. Amazon also runs above Apple's list on new SKUs — the 13-inch M5 Air is $1,099 at Apple and ~$1,260 on Amazon.
