Seal beats spec
Advertised isolation assumes a perfect seal. Stock silicone tips leave a gap that cuts isolation by 10-20 dB — swapping to memory-foam tips (Comply, Shure) adds back 5-15 dB and is the cheapest meaningful upgrade for any IEM here.
Under-isolating the stage
Match isolation to stage volume: -20 dB covers acoustic/jazz, -30 dB rock, -37 dB metal/EDM/drums. Too little isolation makes you crank the monitor mix louder — and that is how gigging musicians lose their hearing.
Counting drivers
