Fit ledger — need → measured evidence

PRESS A BUTTON
One-touch motorised lift across 5.7 to 19.7 inches — no rowing handle, no gas-spring squeeze, and nothing to fight when the deck is loaded.
UNDER $250
$189.99 leaves $60 of headroom, and it is less than half the $401.99 Mount-It! electric — the entry price for a powered converter fell below $200 this year.
CARRIES MORE THAN IT COSTS
44 lbs on the deck plus 11 lbs on the tray — 55 lbs total, against 33 lbs for the Mount-It! electric that costs $212 more.
TAKES A 27-INCH MONITOR
A 35-inch two-tier top puts the screen at eye level with the keyboard on the lower deck, which is where OSHA's workstation guidance wants both of them.
ALMOST NO BUILD
Ships nearly assembled — only the keyboard tray needs attaching, against 10-15 minutes for the sub-$150 manual models.

The catch — co-equal billing, always

It needs an outlet, and it comes in one colour. A motor means a power cord within reach and cable management you buy separately — confirm the UL or ETL listing before plugging it in. FlexiSpot currently sells this converter in a single rustic finish, with no black option, and electric converters run 10-30 lbs heavier than the pneumatic equivalent, so plan on leaving it where you put it.

Dealbreaker? The manual AlcoveRiser M7 covers the same 35 inches with no cord, for $50 less. ↓

Traps — this verdict avoids

Why the FlexiSpot Electric 35" is right for you

It avoids every trap below — and for just me, under $250, it is the pick because it delivers:

Press a button Under $250 Carries more than it costs Takes a 27-inch monitor Almost no build
Trap 01

Depth kills more converters than width

Base depths run from 14.8 inches (FlexiSpot M7) to 27 inches (Ergotron WorkFit-TX), and Z-lift models also travel 6-10 inches toward you as they rise. Measure your desk front-to-back before you measure it side-to-side: a Z-lift on a 24-inch-deep desk pushes the keyboard tray past the front edge.

Trap 02

It has to work at both ends

Max lift decides whether you can actually stand — over 6'2" you need roughly 18+ inches to put your elbows at 43-46" from the floor, and the Mount-It! 36" stops at 16.3" while the VIVO reaches 20" and the Uplift E7 21". At the other end, every converter adds 4-6 inches of minimum height to your desk even fully lowered, so your seated typing position changes too.

Trap 03

The 33-pound ceiling

Most converters here cap at 33-35 lbs, and that rating assumes weight spread evenly across the deck. A cantilevered monitor arm loads one edge and eats into it further — Mount-It!'s two included arms are rated 17.6 lbs each. Only the Uplift E7 (110 lbs) has real headroom for triple monitors or heavy gear.
