$500 under the $1,500 cap
Across 16 sources, the only 75-inch set under $1,500 with four full HDMI 2.1 ports — two consoles, a PC and an eARC soundbar all stay plugged in.
Fit ledger — need → measured evidence
■ The catch — co-equal billing, always
Its built-in sound is the worst here. Trusted Reviews calls the QNED85A's audio thin and hard, and shouty at volume — you are buying a soundbar with it, not later. Brightness is mid-pack too: about 1,200 nits @10% measured on the 65-inch sibling, against LG's "almost 2,000 nits" claim.
Dealbreaker? Runner-up №2, the Hisense 75U8QG, has 4.1.2-channel 82W audio built in ↓
■ Every product has a catch. Verdicts that hide it are how bad buys happen.
Don't buy this if…
- you want the brightest possible TV (>5000 nits peak) and budget can stretch to $2000
- your budget is under $700 for a 75-inch TV
- you need a smaller TV (55-65 inches)
- you specifically want 85-inch+ screen size85-inch TV verdict →
Wrong product for you is still a bad buy. These are the cases where we'd send you somewhere else.

Traps — this verdict avoids
Why the LG 75QNED85A is right for you
It avoids every trap below — and for just me, under $1,500, it is the pick because it delivers:
The nit that isn't there
Peak-brightness headlines are measured on a 10% HDR window. The TCL QM7L's 2,840 nits falls to 788 nits full-field, and the Samsung QN90F's 2,000-2,500 falls to roughly 800. Full-field is the number you actually see in daytime sports.
77 is not 75
Every "OLED under $1,500" headline in this bracket is a 77-inch panel — about 1.2 in wider and 2 in taller — quoted at a sale price. The LG B5 stands at $2,999 at LG. There is still no true 75-inch OLED near the cap.
Two ports, not four
"HDMI 2.1" on a TCL or Hisense Mini-LED here means 2 of 4 ports, and one of the 4K60 ports carries eARC. A soundbar plus two 120Hz consoles will not fit. Only the LG and Samsung sets give four.
